Croham Place is a rehabilitation service with full multidisciplinary team input designed to provide permanent, transitional, respite and palliative care for people with physical disabilities, acquired brain injury (ABI) and associated mental health issues. It is designed for those who require high levels of care and support to manage their physical disabilities, and in some cases, a terminal illness.
The majority of people who we support on an ongoing basis suffer from limb or limbs paralysis and are wheelchair bound and in some cases bed bound, which means that these service users are at high risk of contractures, limited range of movement and pressure sores, which makes it very important to apply the correct Physiotherapy treatment for each service user. We therefore focus on improving quality of life by improving muscle power, improving joint flexibility and overall mobility level.
Croham Place provides an in house Physiotherapy service led by a Physiotherapist registered with both the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Health & Care Professions Council.
Our Physiotherapist studied Physiotherapy at East London University, and spent 15 years working at NHS acute and community hospitals within the disciplines of neurology, respiratory, neurosurgery, intensive care, musculoskeletal outpatients, and mental health.
We believe that Physiotherapy can deliver significant health benefits, with a focus on delivering physiotherapy programmes to meet the individual care needs of our service users’ such as:
